Search your agency management system for clients at or near the dispatch location. The reported address may not always be the damaged property.
The fire could involve your client's home, a neighboring structure, an outbuilding, or another nearby property. Public dispatch information is preliminary and may change.
Contact your client as soon as practical. Start by asking if everyone is safe and whether they have been affected. Even if there is no damage, a proactive call demonstrates that you care.
Gather basic information, advise the client to protect the property from further damage if it is safe to do so, document the loss with photos, and collect any emergency contact information.
Report the claim to the insurance carrier, provide the claim number when available, explain what to expect from the adjuster, and continue checking in with your client throughout the recovery process.
